everything is designed, except for nature. there is an idea of design v. invention: idea for floss is invention but whoever decided to put that floss in the white box is design. in the design world, there is no rank. if you're an intern and you have the best idea, go you. deep dive = crazy ideas are thrown around; build off of ideas. "focused chaos." everything has to go through a process and takes a lot of hours, an open mind, a belief that chaos can be constructive and teamwork.

Deep-Dive™ is the name of a technique used to rapidly immerse a group or team into a situation for problem solving or idea creation. It was designed by IDEO and often focuses on four distinct areas: Process, Organisation, Culture, and Leadership.
The deep dive process consists of five parts: 1. Understand the market/ client/ technology and constraints 2. Observe real people in real situations 3. Visualize new-to-the-world concepts and ultimate customers 4. Evaluate and refine prototypes 5. Implement new concept for commercialization. Also, the deep dive includes rapid prototyping (putting brainstormed ideas together and building or trying out ideas, concepts or processes).
